What is it about your political beliefs that puts you on the Left rather than the Right?
i naturally believe in fairness and equal opportunity and believe that the right wing in this country protects the status quo
What do you consider made you Left wing?
living on a council house estate
How would you describe the sort of society you want Britain to be?
where everyone has equal opportunity to fulfill their true potential
What one or two changes would make the biggest difference to bringing that about?
ending private education for the rich, and the labour party should also be more invlved in community activism to understand the fears of working clas people
What most makes you angry about the way Britain is now?
still a deeply unequal society where young working clas people still feel left behind and feel ignored by a party that is meant to represent their interests.
Which person, event, era or movement from the past should we look to for inspiration now?
i am deeply inspired by the christian socialist movement as it is a very community driven organisation and encourages its members to be active in their communites. it practices what it preaches. whilst the csm is driven by the ideas of social justice it also understands working class values of strong families and coummunites and a strong sense of civic responsibility that are at the core of working class Britain
Position: student and parish councillor
